Reference Sire

“Ike”, (Eye Take Time) our grey grandson of Dash For Cash was bred in Oklahoma by leading breeder and stallion farm Bellemere Farm. Early on in his 2 year old year his World Champion jockey said “he was the fastest horse I ever rode”. Ike ran the fastest schooling race of the day for quarter horses at the prestigious Remington Park in Oklahoma. His time and SI of 85 in his first schooling race under wraps stamped him as a bonafide Stakes prospect. Unfortunately in his first official start he was bumped coming out of the gate, fell down and chipped his knee ending a promising race career.

Mr. Eye Opener, SI 106 ran 330 yards in World record time as a two year old. He is Dash For Cash’s #2 siring son of all time behind only First Down Dash. Mr.Eye Opener has sired 12 Champions and multiple stakes winners who have earned over $25 million racing. He is also the current leading living broodmare sire of AQHA money earners.

Ike’s dam,Take After Me is a daughter of World Champion Bully Bullion, SI 104. “Take After Me is the best mare we ever bred” (Belle Mere Farms, quote from the quarter horse racing journal). Ike’s first three dams have produced earners of $1,500,000 including Champion See Me Gone. Ike has a full brother who is the only horse in history to win both the Grade 1 Remington Park Futurity and come back to win the Remington Park Derby. He also has a full sister who was the high selling yearling at the Heritage Place sale ($90,000,00) and another full sibling who was in the top 10 at another Heritage Place sale. The top horse people in the world are paying top prices for this pedigree.

Ike is an all time leading sire of quarter horse money earners in Western Canada, earnings of nearly $500,000. He has sired 4 Prairie Gold (Alberta Stallion Stakes) stakes winners and 3 who have ran second in this lucrative breeders race run each year at Northlands Park. Ike has also been named 3 times Alberta Champion Race Sire. His leading money earner, Eye An The Breeze, SI 101 earned nearly $100,000, was a multiple stakes winner, AQHA Superior Race Horse and was a Canadian Challenge winner. In our winners section you can see some of Ike’s top runners.

Eye Take Times pedigree offers the versatility for racing, barrels and arena performance. Dash For Cash through his brilliant speed and fabulous disposition is the sire line that can produce flat race horses, barrel racing horses and arena performance horses at the highest level. Ike’s sire Mr. Eye Opener is also the sire of World Champion Lee Graves great steer wrestling horse, Rocks Eye Opener (Jessie) who has twice been named AQHA steer wrestling Horse of the year. Bully Bullion is also the sire of barrel earners of over $1.5 million. Bully Bullion is one of the few sires to sire the winner of the prestigious World Barrel Futurity and World Barrel Derby winner in the same year. The bottom side of Ike’s pedigree is also responsible for the legendary AQHA steer wrestling horse, Peanuts.

There are currently a handful of Eye Take Time prospects starting their career as barrel horses, stay tuned. The comments from the owners are they are very willing, trainable and fast.
